What comes up when you think of Pandas? Big Chinese Bears, who like to eat a lot? This might be true, but they not only do it for fun, but in the future might do it for our Earths energy. You may not be the most interested person into Panda Poop, but scientists have taken a step further into studying how it could help. The prediction of these scientists is that poop could create new energy which would be easier to get and cheaper. You might be wondering how exactly poop can create energy.. well its not just the waste, but also the way the bamboo from the trees gets digested in the Pandas stomach. Panda stomachs include bacteria that break down food in the digestive system, and send it out of the body. Since plants are renewable energy resources, it wouldn't be as hard to feed the pandas and get an outcome from it. One more thing I should perhaps mention is that when plants are used as energy sources, the most scientific word to call them biomass, so if you ever find this word in a text, you should know what it means. So after all, the main purpose to study about the pandas poop, is to try to find out how it could work with microbes. They still haven't found out a specific way of creating energy but will be working on this project until it will be done.
I myself am a animal lover, when I first saw this topic I was look, WOW, animal poop.. how does that relate to energy making? It turned out, the topic was pretty interesting. If I would ever have to work with Panda poop, I probably wouldn't like it as much but I would survive. I am eager to see if this project will actually work out, and if energy will be able to be produced with panda poop. If I had to rate this event, I would probably give it 8 because I think it is pretty interesting learning about how the animals we keep behind "bars"are so smart and earth helpers. After all, once some more news of about this topic come out, I will surely be one of the first ones to write about it again. :D

Where do you find the ideas for this blog posts they are so cool i look forward to looking more interesting blog posts !
ReplyDeleteVery good summary and reflection Alex!!! You have good sentence structure and voice in your writing! :) I love the fact that people are starting to look at waste for energy. How else will we all be able to survive together on this planet?
